Dania Novack-Katz, Publisher
Dania fell in love with edible Hawaiian Islands years ago, and in 2007 joined the team as Director of Advertising. In the summer of 2013, an opportunity to publish the magazine arose, and she happily stepped up as publisher. She continues her love affair with sharing the stories of the people and places that are directly connected to our food sources in Hawai‘i. Dania has been a proud Hawai‘i resident since 1988, and resides in Maui along with her two teenagers, Noah & Lily.
Dania says, “Hawai‘i is special because of our desirable location and unique culture. Please join our conversation and love affair with our islands.”
Shelly Ronen, Director of Advertising
Mother, wife, and local business advocate, Shelly is passionate about sharing the importance of growing locally and buying locally sourced to lessen our need for imported goods. She believes there is nothing more important than knowing where the food you feed your family comes from. This is why she supports others that are making this happen.
Allson “Ally” Durkin, Sales Account Representative, Hawaii Island
Allyson is an ardent supporter of all things culinary, the arts, and hospitality. An admirer of the edible Hawaiian Islands for a long time, she values the ideals of promoting sustainability, supporting our farms and ranches, buying and sourcing local foods, and scratch cooking. Drawing inspiration from her family recipes, cookbook collection, and the amazing culinary talent abundant in Hawai’i, Allyson enjoys creating in the kitchen and feeding her husband and two teenage daughters.
Lori Barrett, Sales Account Representative, Kauai
Lori has lived in Kapaa, Kauai since 2011. She was delighted to move back to Hawaii, having lived on the Big Island years ago.
From 2003 – 2011 Lori owned and operated a PR and advertising consulting service, maintaining a contract with the New Mexico Tourism Department for advertising sales in New Mexico State publications. She also created campaigns for various government entities, and owned a contemporary and ethnographic art gallery. Prior to that time she was involved in many forms of media.
Lori is excited to become a part of the edible Hawaiian Islands team. Her love of food, people, and island culture, as well as her passion for sustainability makes her a good fit for the edible community. Lori is honored to work for a publication focused on bettering the health and happiness of the residents of Hawaii.

Gabe is a designer, developer and owner of Glopilot Web Design on Maui. He is an enthusiastic supporter of local food sources, sustainability, creativity and loves hearing the stories behind where our food comes from.
