Presented each January in Waimea and along the Kohala coast of The Big Island, the Waimea Ocean Film Festival brings a non-stop line-up of exceptional films, filmmakers, speakers, stories, athletes, scientists, artists and culture to the island and coast each year.
The Waimea Ocean Film Festival was launched in 2011 with a mission “to bring a greater understanding of the ocean environment and island culture, plus build awareness that everything we do on land affects the sea, including the people whose livelihood and subsistence depends on the health of the ocean environment.”
Ocean Film Fest, Inc., dba The Waimea Ocean Film Festival, is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
Festival passes are available at http://www.waimeaoceanfilm.org and from the festival office. Call 808-854-6095 to purchase passes, or email firstname.lastname@example.org
“The Waimea Ocean Film Festival brings a rich and dynamic program to remarkable venues on the Big Island of Hawaiʻi every January.
Over 60 films, coupled with filmmaker Q&As, presentations and panel discussions highlight ocean experience, ocean environment, island culture, inspirational stories and epic adventure, set amidst the beauty of the Kohala Coast. Venues include some of the most stunning and exclusive resorts in the world – the Four Seasons Resort Hualālai, the Fairmont Orchid, Hawaiʻi, Mauna Kea Resort – along with historic theatres in the town of Waimea. There is simply nothing like it anywhere else in the world.”
