4TH ANNUAL FARM GUIDE
WHO’s GROWING WHAT AND WHERE
SLURP FRUIT FROM A CACAO POD, SIP A CUP OF just-roasted coffee, or sniff the intoxicating scent of lavender right from the stem: there’s a bounty of sensory experiences awaiting your discovery on the many farms on each of our Hawaiian islands.
edible Hawaiian Islands wants to help you meet the people who grow the food and flowers of Hawai‘i. We present you with a selection of agricultural producers from across the islands assembled in a handy, pull-out form, complete with our statewide farmers’ market guide. True to our mission, it’s a celebration of family farmers and producers, in honor of their dedication to providing fresh, seasonal foods.
The variety of micro-climates in Hawai‘i enables year-round cultivation of both tropical and temperate plants. Tempt your senses with local, farm-fresh cheese and chocolate, honey and herbs, macadamia nuts and mangoes, aquaponic fish and avocados, heart-shaped anthuriums and exotic orchids, tender, edible fern shoots called pohole, and so much more.
Our 4th Annual Farm Guide is a great resource for shopping local, and supporting the hard-working agricultural community of Hawai‘i. Inside you will find farmers, ranchers, food producers and supporters, conveniently divided by island. Before you head out for a visit, however, we advise reconfirming the information as offerings may have changed.
